Basal Body Temperature

Basal Body Temperature

Basal Body Temperature is an assessment used when one wishes to assess the impact of body temperature for parameters such as sub clinical thyroid conditions ( ie even if your Medical Doctor’s blood work shows a normal range of thyroid function , it is possible that you may have thyroid type symptoms ie subclinical thyroid imbalance yet it is not progressed enough for it to be a disease, early management can prevent this from occurring) and or fertility or birth control management.

The temperature is taken either during the whole month; 2nd,3rd,4th day of menses; and or 10 random days first thing in the morning before moving around under the arm.  It is important to chart the 2 figures past the decimal point and use a basal body thermometer for best accuracy.  Fluctuations in temperature can occur if you are unwell, have eaten for example so it is important to also chart any unusual circumstances.
